Taasisi ya Sanaa na Utamaduni Bagamoyo – TaSUBa (Formerly Bagamoyo College of Arts) is a semi-autonomous government agency that provides training, research and consultancy services in the arts and culture. TaSUBa aims to develop and promote Tanzanian arts and culture by providing trainings, consultancies, conducting researches, and organizing festivals, conferences and symposiums.
We are pleased to inform you that, once again TaSUBa is organizing the 38th edition of Bagamoyo International Festival of Arts and Culture. The Festival will take place at TaSUBa in Bagamoyo (Coastal Region) from 19th to 26th October, 2019. In this respect we wish to humbly request you, as one of our key stakeholders and well wishers, to sponsor this event. We consider it a worthwhile opportunity for your company to be associated with us in this initiative in promoting Tanzanian arts and culture.
Our festival has gained an exceptional popularity as it gathers local and international artists and audiences. A total of 1406 cultural groups have participated in the previous festivals of which 1248 are locals and 158 from overseas. The 37th Bagamoyo International Arts and Culture Festival, which took place in October, 2018, attracted a total of 58,550 audiences from Tanzania and abroad.
Apart from local and international audiences, the Festival normally attracts youth from schools (primary and secondary schools), colleges and universities. This year, we expect that the 38th Festival will attract a total of 60,000 audiences from Bagamoyo vicinities including Dar es Salaam and other parts of Tanzania and beyond.
Moreover, like the previous festivals, this year the Festival will have adequate
representatives from diplomatic community, Government institutions, private sector and the local community.
The major objective of the Festival is to provide opportunity for local and
international artists and audience to come together to celebrate their amazing rich
cultural diversity that inform their cohesion values, minds and creativity.
The following are the specific objectives of the Festival:
To provide a platform for TaSUBa students and those from other training
institutions to showcase their works and skills acquired in the course of their
training in the arts and culture.
To promote mutual cultural exchange amongst local and international artists.
To provide a platform for youth (young artists) to demonstrate their talents
and skills on arts and culture.
To create awareness among youth and artists on issues pertaining Tanzanian
arts and culture.
